MB training was originally developed by Japanese dancer Min Tanaka. It marries sports training with dance and martial arts. With a strong focus on footwork, spinal alignment and co-ordination the aim of an MB class or training session, is to create a self-expressed body that is agile, graceful and strong. An MB can be made both with and separate from a the full Bodyweather process and is made up of twelve sections containing anaerobic and aerobic training, plyometric conditioning, coordinative and choreographic phrasing and improvisations. When made separately it must contain the final section, MB12, which is a 40 minute stretch and warm-down founded within active-passive kinaesthetic stretching and the principles of PNF (Propriaceptive Neuromuscular Facillitation).
